NC State Universitys New Student Programs Department is hiring for a Graduate Intern to provide support in the coordination and implementation of summer orientation programs. This includes assisting in aspects of orientation programming and the development and supervision of student leaders. The position will employ a graduate student from May 14, 2025 until August 1, 2025.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive schedule of Orientation programs including 25 first-year student sessions, 5 transfer student sessions, and concurrent family programs
  • Co-supervise a team of 35 Orientation Leaders and four Student Coordinators under a model of team supervision
  • Facilitate student leader training sessions for Orientation Leaders and Student Coordinators
  • Provide on-site assistance to new students and campus partners in various capacities
  • Collaborate on the daily creation of staff work schedules
  • Coordinate aspects of student staff assessment and lead individual evaluation meetings
  • Present at Orientation events for new students and families
  • Coordinate with campus partners to implement technical aspects of Orientation presentations
  • Plan and execute staff community building including Orientation Leader Graduation and the End of Summer Banquet
