- Answer and appropriately route incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Create and issue identification cards and parking decals for faculty, staff, and students in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers assigned to circulation services, ensuring high standards of customer service and reliability.
- Assist with circulation desk duties during peak periods, including checking materials in and out, processing holds, and answering patron inquiries.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, record keeping, and management of office supplies.
- Maintain the security, order, and welcoming atmosphere of the circulation area.
- Collaborate with other library staff to support broader library initiatives and events.
- Contribute to the overall success of the College by performing all other reasonable duties as assigned by your supervisor or appropriate administrator.
- Answer telephone, take messages and answer general questions and questions in regard to the Success Center and the library;
- Assist students, faculty and staff with questions and information;
- Prepare letters, purchase requisition orders, reports, and file correspondence, copier/scan requests, travel requests/vouchers, etc.;
- Set up as needed meetings for Directors of Student Success and Library; take minutes for any meetings requested;
- Display a commitment to excellence, detail, and responsiveness;
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively through written and spoken interaction, whether it be in group settings or interpersonally;
- Participate in a process of annual evaluation with supervisor and respond in a professional manner to any plans for improvement resulting from that evaluation;
- Comply with all policies, rules, regulations, and procedural guidelines of the College.
- Represent the College in a professional manner;
- Support the College mission implicitly and explicitly in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities;
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and email systems; willingness to learn library-specific software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
