Job Description

  1. Answer and appropriately route incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner. 
  2. Create and issue identification cards and parking decals for faculty, staff, and students in an efficient and accurate manner. 
  3. Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers assigned to circulation services, ensuring high standards of customer service and reliability. 
  4. Assist with circulation desk duties during peak periods, including checking materials in and out, processing holds, and answering patron inquiries. 
  5. Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, record keeping, and management of office supplies. 
  6. Maintain the security, order, and welcoming atmosphere of the circulation area. 
  7. Collaborate with other library staff to support broader library initiatives and events. 
  8. Contribute to the overall success of the College by performing all other reasonable duties as assigned by your supervisor or appropriate administrator.
  9. Answer telephone, take messages and answer general questions and questions in regard to the Success Center and the library;
  10. Assist students, faculty and staff with questions and information;
  11. Prepare letters, purchase requisition orders, reports, and file correspondence, copier/scan requests, travel requests/vouchers, etc.;
  12. Set up as needed meetings for Directors of Student Success and Library; take minutes for any meetings requested;
  13. Display a commitment to excellence, detail, and responsiveness;
  14. Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively through written and spoken interaction, whether it be in group settings or interpersonally;
  15. Participate in a process of annual evaluation with supervisor and respond in a professional manner to any plans for improvement resulting from that evaluation; 
  16. Comply with all policies, rules, regulations, and procedural guidelines of the College.
  17. Represent the College in a professional manner;
  18. Support the College mission implicitly and explicitly in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities;

Required Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and email systems; willingness to learn library-specific software. 
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 
  5. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
