Summary
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean of Instruction, the Director plans, organizes, coordinates, prioritizes, assists in recruitment, and directs the establishment, continuation, and expansion of the non-credit, adult education, dual enrollment, and community education programs. The Director coordinates the development of project/program objectives and ensures programs are properly implemented and in compliance with applicable Federal and State guidelines and District policies and procedures. This position is grant funded

Education and Experience
This position requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent. This position requires a minimum of 2 years responsible professional experience in education or management or a related field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain existing programs and plans and executes the expansion of non-credit, adult education; develop and administer annual program budgets; and ensure compliance with District policies and applicable state and federal regulations related to non-credit, adult education.
  • Coordinate opportunities for non-credit programming that enhance, augment or enrich academic instruction and follow up on development and expansion of non-credit and adult education in collaboration with instructors.
  • Build and grow new and existing partnerships within the community, with an emphasis on employability within the corporate/industry/business environment through expanded offerings and responsiveness.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the operations and activities of the non-credit, adult education programs. Develop and implement appropriate methods and procedures to optimize efficient and effective delivery of services to students, and review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and input of non-credit courses and certification. Help shepherd non-credit and adult education courses through the curriculum process.
  • Coordinate with fiscal office on budgets for CTE grants, non-credit, and adult education programs. Maintain fiscal and data reporting in NOVA for all appropriate programs, manage data entry into TopsPro as necessary and MIS data entry. Ensure all fiscal reporting mandates are met for CTE grants and CAEP.
  • Assist with recruitment and advertising efforts for non-credit, adult education programs.
  • Collaborate regularly with LMAE Consortium Lead regarding budget accuracy, state reporting requirements, and program plan strategies. Assist with planning, in coordination with LMAE Consortium Lead, LMAEC Consortium meetings and workshops, etc. as well as attend and participate in the meetings as needed.
  • Interpret and apply program regulations and policies related to dual enrollment, non-credit, community education, and adult education.
  • Act as the Test Administrator for the HiSET Program and assume duties as outlined in the HiSET Program manual.
    § Maintain and use the regional website to promote consortium efforts in the development and expansion of adult education programs under the 5 CAEP Objectives and 7 CAEP program areas. In addition, use social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to promote AE consortium activity.
  • Work within the colleges Guided Pathways context to ensure appropriate pathways from adult education and non-credit programs, into credit programs. Facilitate and manage dual enrollment opportunities and career pathways for students enrolled in HSD/HSE adult education programs and high school students.
  • Manage reporting, record keeping, and CCAP agreements with high school districts for dual enrollment in coordination with other campus employees
  • Manage community services education program including recruitment, budgeting, administering policies, procedures, instructor support and all duties necessary for effective implementation of program goals.
