Job Description:

The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking an experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professional to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, and Microsoft Office Applications in a variety of vocational programs. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment.  Specify day/evening availability.


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in the field to be taught from a recognized college or university with one year of practical experience in that field. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention; experience teaching remotely; and experience using an LMS and Google Classrooms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred.  Organization and detail orientation skills are also strongly preferred. 

 


Additional Information:

SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $82.57.  This position is fully grant funded.
