Purpose of Job
ï¿½ To teach coursework in the Culinary Arts, Pastry, and Baking Programs.
ï¿½ To provide training and student support to produce graduates who meet entry-level employment criteria for positions in the Culinary Arts field.
ï¿½ Associate degree required, Bachelorï¿½s preferred ( in field)
ï¿½ Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) or Certified Executive Chef (CEC) preferred but not required
ï¿½ ACF accreditation as a Pastry Chef (preferred/not required)
ï¿½ State Teaching Certification not required State Teaching Certification not required
Minimum of four years full-time experience in food service industry.
Preference given for prior teaching experience.
ï¿½ Provide input on curriculum
ï¿½ Support students
ï¿½ Prepare students for entry level employment as cooks and other kitchen related jobs

ï¿½ Must pass criminal back ground check prior to starting position.
ï¿½ Instructional time (based on 55 hour, 44 hour or 33 hour schedule)
ï¿½ Preparation time
ï¿½ Office hours and other formal and informal interaction with the students; i.e., telephone, email
ï¿½ Three hours per quarter of faculty meetings/in-service training
ï¿½ Eight hours of pre-service training is provided by the Center for Teaching and Learning Department.
Adjunct ï¿½ Hours will vary based on course(s) being taught
Starting Pay Rate
starting $41.00 per class hour
