Job Description
Minneapolis College has a full-time permanent instructor position available in our Aircraft Maintenance A&P Technician Program.
Program Features:
* Located in Delta Air Lines Building C at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
* Teaches Federal Aviation Administration Airframe & Powerplant curriculum (14 CFR Part 147)
* Consists of three cohorts of 25 students each
* Prepares students to pass A&P license examination & obtain employment as aviation maintenance technicians
* One of 49 Delta Air Lines “Preferred” aircraft maintenance technician A&P schools with access & support of one of nation’s largest air carriers
Instructor Responsibilities:
* Teach lecture & lab courses to very diverse student population at MSP International Airport
* Liaison with Federal Aviation Administration & Delta Air Lines
* Develop instructional materials
* Assess student performance
* Develop working relationships with college departments, staff, faculty, administration
* Participate in college community through department meetings & committee work
* Utilize campus technology to maintain A&P maintenance technician skills & connect with faculty, staff & students
* Participate in professional development activities & memberships
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirement:
* Diploma in aviation maintenance
Occupational Experience Requirement:
* Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in aviation maintenance
Recency Requirement:
* One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement:
* FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (FAA 147 Requirement)
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement (to be completed within first three years of employment)
Preferred Qualifications
* Teaching experience in technical school or community college
* Computer skills in MS Office & educational learning systems
* Experience developing/using student learning strategies
* Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery
* Experience assessing student academic achievement
* Master’s degree or equivalent
Other Requirements
* Able to pass background check & be issued contractor’s T.O.C. security badge by Delta Air Lines for facility access
* Must be in good standings with Minneapolis College.
