Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor of Business - Legal Studies to begin August, 2022. Reporting to the School of Business, responsibilities include classroom teaching of Business Law, legal studies, and general business courses. In addition, the instructor will be responsible for program development, assessment, and developing community connections to advance the program. Successful candidates will teach 15 contact hours per semester with 30 credits total in the academic year in addition to student advising, assessment activities, and committee work. Faculty are expected to advance the College’s focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025.

Required: Master’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a closely related field that focuses on legal issues in Business.

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred: Juris Doctorate, strong communication skills, computer literacy, previous adjunct or faculty teaching experience, mentoring, curriculum development, ability to integrate critical thinking strategies into the teaching/learning process, and the ability to interact with external entities such as court representatives.
