The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Part-Time Instructor, Computer Information Systems at Las Positas College. Applicants will be expected to provide instruction in courses that may include IT Fundamentals, Project Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Web Programming, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Desktop Operating Systems, Keyboarding, Medical Office Procedures, Database Technology and additional CIS courses as developed by the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules
- Create and maintain an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas
- Meet with students outside of class periodically (office hours)
- Evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters
- Grade student’s work
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member
- Maintain accurate academic records
Minimum Qualifications:
Any Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom.
