Position Summary
Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader who is excited to take on a new and innovative role. The Director of Programs Career-Connected Learning reports to the Senior Director, WorkReadyU & Grant Programs of the Career Connected Learning Division and will:
1. Provide oversite and develop a comprehensive process for managing and accessing special projects and initiatives for non-traditional adult learners and disconnected youth populations.

2. Facilitate development of educational career pathways with constituents to ensure programmatic and optimal educational needs are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
  • Experience managing change initiatives including knowledge and skill in process improvement, project planning, conflict resolution, team building, customer service, and data-based decision-making concepts
  • Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College’s current transition
  • Demonstrated successful experience in the compliance monitoring of workforce education programs
  • Experience with local, state and federal workforce programs,
  • Ability to analyze multi-layered problems and propose solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion and a demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity
  • Knowledge of compliance with pertinent state and federal laws and regulations
  • Must be able to use appropriate managerial skills to provide staff with the tools, resources and materials necessary to meet the goals of the organization.
  • Employ data-informed decision making and use predictive analytics


Physical Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five (5) years of progressive responsibility in managing workforce programs, social services or student programs and special projects
  • Experience managing large work groups and delivery structures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages various aspects of programs and grant funded initiatives by developing standard operating procedures that align with funding agency deliverables.
  • Audits a wide variety of documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the program, Dallas College and external agency’s regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Schools of to design, develop and implement workforce development training options and models that align with business and industry needs.
  • Use financial information to monitor the status of programs and make a strategic decision based on the information.
  • Provide oversight of the administrative and compliance functions of all activities to meet the project requirements.
  • Coordinates, tracks, and analyzes program deliverables with funding agency, and develops a strategic plan for program self-sufficiency.
  • Create monthly reports to advise the status of projects to various internal and external stakeholders, district resource development and other funding sources. Stay up to date on any changes to the law regarding grants policies
  • Provide management and oversight of data collection and analysis required to measure program performance.
