Program Director- Surgical Technology

Pittsburgh Technical College is a private, non-profit and regionally accredited institution committed to higher education excellence and focused on academic and professional success. Located in Western Pennsylvania since 1946, PTC awards associate and bachelors degrees and certificates in these areas: Business, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Design and Engineering Technology, Healthcare, Nursing, Information Systems and Technology, Trades Technology, and Energy and Electronics Technology. The PTC college experience is empowering and culminates in internships and clinical rotations for on-campus, degree-seeking students.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- To support the educational staff, programs and coordination of all factors which affect student academic success.
- Teaches 12 to 15 hours per week, contingent upon enrollment and departmental needs.
- Tracks stats for annual report.
- Monitors off-site educational experiences.
- Maintains accreditation standards.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist through a National Commission or Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum of five years related full-time work experience.
- Experience/trainer as an educator is recommended
- Minimum 3 of last 5 years as practicing surgical technologist and /or instructor of surgical technology.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full time – 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday – 9 hours per day (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch period) Schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
