This is a part-time three-year grant position, working 10-15 hours per week, reporting to the Healthcare Education Navigator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to individuals enrolled in healthcare sciences at Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC). Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to assisting prospective students in identifying their educational goals to achieve success in one of TVCCs healthcare education programs. TVCCs Healthcare Education programs include CNA, EMT 1, EMT 2, Paramedic, and Medical Assistant. The Healthcare Education Coach would be

responsible for weekly monitoring of the students enrolled in the above-mentioned programs and identifying any means by which tutoring, mentoring, or financial assistance may ensure the success of the student in the healthcare education program. The Healthcare Education Coach will collaborate with the Healthcare Education Navigator and plan necessary referrals to resources available at TVCC to assist students in the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience as a Medical Assistant or Paramedic of at least three years with proficient knowledge of the educational requirements necessary for students to successfully complete their chosen healthcare education choice. Bilingual highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient computer skills.

• A flexible schedule may require evening or weekend hours.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain communication via distance learning methods with students and Healthcare Education Navigator such as Zoom.

• Resource linkage for students, assist with questions/orientation of students entering the healthcare education program.

• Coordinate students with peer mentors to provide tutoring if appropriate.

• Desire to support entry level students in the health sciences.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a part-time, grant-funded position, working 10-15 hours per week at the rate of $35.00 per hour.
