Allied Healthcare Program Manager for Workforce Development


 

BARGAINING UNIT/NON-UNIT: Non Unit

ANTICIPATED START DATE: February 19, 2024 or as soon as possible.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with education and experience.


 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Dean of Workforce Development, the Allied Healthcare Program Manager oversees non-credit Allied Healthcare training programs, including but not limited to Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Patient Care Technician, Medication Administration (MAP) Training, as well as new allied healthcare programs under development. The Program Manager will oversee non-credit Allied Healthcare training program instructors and support the recruitment and training of new instructors and supplemental instructors, as required. The Program Manager will coordinate with the Workforce Development team on recruitment and enrollment efforts for all non-credit Allied Healthcare programs, including conducting student intake interviews, as required. The Program Manager will ensure compliance with program certification requirements and partner with the Dean to develop and expand new Allied Healthcare certification and training programs. The Program Manager will also help implement continuous improvement strategies to ensure training programs are current with best practices and most up to date curricular standards.


 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the daily operations of non-credit Allied Healthcare programs.
  • Oversee recruitment and enrollment of non-credit Allied Health students, including running information sessions, answering student questions, responding to inquiries, and conducting intake interviews, as required.
  • Manage required health documentation for non-credit Allied Healthcare students.
  • Coordinate clinical rotations and internship/externship sites for students enrolled in non-credit Allied Healthcare programs.
  • Ensure compliance with third-party certification bodies' standards and requirements.
  • Recruit, interview and recommend instructors for hire; train and on-board new instructors.
  • Provide resource navigation support for all non-credit Allied Healthcare students in a way that is respectful, equitable, and proactive; provide referrals to support services as appropriate.
  • Monitor the progress and retention of students enrolled in non-credit Allied Healthcare programs
  • Track and report program completion, credential attainment, exam pass rates, employment attainment, and other key outcome data points as required; document and communicate data clearly and on a regular basis as required by the Workforce Development division;
  • Administer course evaluations and instructor evaluations on a regular basis; Administer post program online surveys to students and employers
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare employers in close partnership with the Dean of Workforce Development; identify services and externship sites that meet students' needs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop recruitment and marketing materials for specific programs, and ensure that public-facing information regarding Allied Healthcare programs (such as the Workforce Development website) is accurate and up-to-date
  • Attend campus meetings and serve on committees, as required.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and order supplies as needed.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of skills labs to ensure they are well-stocked, clean, and safe.
  • Maintain updated course description, course outline, and syllabi as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE*:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field required; Registered Nurse Degree preferred
  • Experience teaching allied healthcare course subjects
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge, experience, and skills related to allied healthcare
  • Demonstrated ability to manage programs.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in implementing workforce development programs, including grant-funded programs
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with the Google Suite, such as the Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.
  • Current AHA BLS CPR and industry specific license

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Maintains a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving and developing innovative solutions to address challenges
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing projects

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or Registered Nurse Degree Preferred
  • One year experience working in a long term care facility as a RN
  • Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
  • Experience working with students who possess wide ranges of life experiences, academic abilities and career interests.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Valid Driver's License is required
