Continuing Education - Program Specialist 2
Salary: $42,444 - $56,676
Classification: Program Specialist 2
Reports to: Director of Program Development & Continuing Education

Priority consideration will be given to qualified internal candidates

Working with the Director of Program Development & Continuing Education, the Continuing Education Program Specialist 2 is the main administrative support for Continuing Education, serving students and staff by helping with registration in the CampusCE system and acting as the main campus contact for Campus CE problem-solving and assistance. Works with CE faculty to assist with onboarding, building classes, finding rooms, ordering supplies, and supporting classroom instruction for Continuing Education. Assists with building virtual fliers and other marketing pieces to get the word out about Continuing Education classes. Provides support for grant writing and grant implementation where appropriate.

 

Essential Functions

Act as the lead staff working in Campus CE

  • Building classes in Campus CE and ctcLink systems.
  • Finding classrooms and building the quarterly schedule
  • Supporting students in enrolling through Campus CE.
  • Helping with payments, instructor/classroom support, and troubleshooting issues.
Continuing Education Director support
  • Assisting with hiring/employment processes for CE instructors.
  • Gathering information from instructors for course proposals, and helping with payroll, onboarding, and professional development activities.
  • Assisting with scheduling of CE classes.
Program Support and Outreach
  • Using Constant Contact and other digital programs to create fliers and marketing materials for Continuing Ed classes.
  • Helping with social media outreach.
  • Gather and organize data related to program enrollment.
Workforce & Economic Development (WFED) Office Coverage
  • Assists with ensuring that the main office area has coverage, as necessary.
  • Answers questions and directs foot traffic and phone calls.
Continuing Education Student and Class support
  • Helping to solve CE student issues as they emerge.
  • Refers student complaints to supervisor.
  • Assists with ensuring classrooms are open and have the necessary equipment for CE classes.
  • Will need to sometimes work an alternative schedule of 10 am to 6:30 pm when classes are running.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Or, equivalent education & experience
  • Excellent technology skills.
Equivalent education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with community or continuing education programs.
  • Experience with a customer-facing position.

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time classified position scheduled to work 40 hours a week, with a salary range of $42,444 - $56,676. Most classified positions will start their salary at Step A, when you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Associate (WPEA) Union.
