Job Description:

This is a responsible, professional support position that reports to the Associate Dean of Student Services. The Sr. Student Success Advisor, Special Populations and Outreach is responsible for coordinating recruitment and outreach efforts College-wide and collaborating with colleagues throughout the division to ensure coverage and presence in area schools and the community. This position also serves as the College-wide point of contact for Student Services related dual enrollment concerns and complaints. Lastly, this position advises dual enrollment students from private, virtual and home school settings.


 

Essential Functions/Duties

  • Consults and advises new program applicants in the process and steps for program admission and completion.
  • Serves as the primary academic advisor for dual enrolled students enrolled in private, virtual, and home school settings by utilizing intentional, developmental advising methods focused on student success, skill development, and life-long learning.
  • Assists students with curriculum planning, course selection, information related to bachelors and graduate programs, initial transfer credit review, and academic program requirements and degree audits.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Student Services-related dual enrollment concerns and complaints, with the support and direction of the Associate Dean of Student Services – District.
  • Oversees the development and execution of the divisions recruitment and outreach calendar.
  • Analyzes course enrollment and provides feedback on the course schedule to program directors, department chairs, and deans, as appropriate.
  • Participates in community outreach activities and collaborates to coordinate recruiting and informational meetings, and other events on and off campus during days, nights, and the occasional weekend.
  • Analyses data and prepares various reports as requested by program directors and/or college administrators.
  • Assists with all other advising functions during peak registration times.
  • Communicate effectively with current and prospective students, community members and College staff adhering to privacy of student records requirements (FERPA).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Services.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Spanish/English Bilingual

 

Working Conditions/Additional Information

  • Some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have the ability to work proficiently in a busy, multi-office work area.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt well to changes.

 

Salary and Benefits Information

  • This position is level P14. Please see below for specific salary range.

Required Education

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree is required.

Required Experience

  • Two years of experience in student records in a post-secondary college or university. Student records experience can come from Advising, Financial Aid or other area that deals heavily with reviewing and understanding student transcripts and degree audits.
