Job Description

Hope College seeks a one-year, visiting assistant professor, with the possibility of renewal for one more year, to teach courses in history and classics. The successful candidate will offer an introductory survey course of European/Mediterranean history to 1500 CE and upper level courses in Greek and Roman history. The ability to offer in Greek or Latin language and/or archaeology and material culture is also desirable. The overall teaching load will be 4-4. To apply, please visit hope.edu/jobs. Qualifications

PhD in History, Classics, or related field

Physical Demands

This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves moving items over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
