Position Summary
 

Overview: Internship providing a unique view of the library of a major international arts institution. This internship is 40 hours per week for approximately 8 weeks during the summer. 

Salary: $17.00/hour

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

  • Work closely with library staff to identify, describe, and make available born digital press kits produced for the 2024 Venice Biennale pavilions and help select Venice Biennale physical ephemera items for digitization. 

  • Identify and record items in need of conservation in the main library stacks, locate and link to existing digital surrogates when available.

  • Opportunity to create a virtual rare book talk/exhibition by selecting a theme and images from the library special collections to be shared on the librarys website.  

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Skills

Applicants must be college students at Williams College or Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

 

Work Experience 

  • No library experience necessary.

  • Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to use a computer for prolonged periods of time. 

  • Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment and library spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
