COMMUNICATION INSTRUCTOR
Full-Time Faculty
 

The Communication Instructor position is Open Until Filled so that we can find the ideal candidate for our amazing team.

As a Full-Time Faculty Communication Instructor, you will be teaching lower division Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking classes in a positive, student-centered learning environment for both college transfer and professional technical programs. The position includes an instructional schedule with teaching; student interaction; assessment; college committee work; recruitment and retention; and engagement with students, campus colleagues, community members, and appropriate state-wide college Communications groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:

  • MA in Communications with coursework relevant to interpersonal communication and public speaking from a regionally accredited college.
  • At least three years recent experience teaching Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking at the college level (or the equivalent work experience).
  • Ability to be on campus Monday – Friday and may include both day and evening hours.
  • Familiarity with and/or ability to quickly learn computer technologies used in communication, teaching, and record keeping (word processing, basic spread sheets, Canvas and Banner).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with others and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
  • 3 – 5 years experience teaching Interpersonal Communication and Public Speaking at a community college.
  • Prior experience developing and teaching online classes with the Canvas LMS.
  • Experience in strategic planning.
