Job Summary

Madisonville Community College (MCC) is a five-campus institution centrally located along I-69 corridor in beautiful rural Western Kentucky that serves Muhlenberg, Caldwell, Webster, and Crittenden Counties. This role will focus on recruitment, retention, and referral of students in the adult education program.

Job Duties:

• Focus on recruitment, retention, and referral of adult education students.
• Provide guidance and assistance to adult education students toward a preferred postsecondary or career pathway.
• Help adult education students overcome unique barriers.
• Provide coaching on persistence to GED® credential attainment, workplace literacy programs, Integrated Education and Training pathways, college and career entry, and skills advancement aligned to current high-growth sectors relative to student interest and regional need.
• Maintain student records and track student performance.
• Assist with orientations and testing as needed.
• Attend and complete professional development as required per Madisonville Community College and Kentucky Adult Education.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to develop and enhance program performance.
• Must be willing to work a schedule that includes two evenings per week.
• Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in student counseling, career counseling or related field.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate an elevated level of initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal and time management/scheduling skills required.
• Proficient in computer and digital literacy skills.
