Position Overview:

The Clinical Supervisor oversees the work of clinicians in a site or program to provide and coordinate a wide range of clinical services for individuals with mental health disabilities including entrance and exits of individuals into programs. The Clinical Supervisor recruits and is involved in selection of qualified personnel for open positions in those programs as well as training and supervision of those personnel. Supervision includes monitoring and approving treatment services, as well as supervising the general performance of the individual employees and the team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and supervise the screening, selection, entrance, and exit of individuals in service.
  • Receives, reviews and responds to all ICM referrals as soon as possible and at minimum within five business days.
  • Attends to all contractual obligations of ICM contracts and follows all OARs relevant to these programs.
  • Review and approve individual assessments and support plans, documentation of services, plan revisions and annual reauthorization assessments.
  • Ensures that appropriate services are provided to all ICM clients in the community as contracted.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving appropriate referrals to Heartwood Commons.
  • Responsible for managing all team authorizations:
  • Ensure that less than 10% of team authorizations are overdue.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and training of qualified personnel.
  • Assists with onboarding of new clinicians, including setting up shadowing schedules, helping clinicians understand all pieces of essential job functions and doing daily check-ins with new employees for the first month.
  • Directly provide supervision to assist program staff to increase their skills within their scope of practice, improve quality of services to individuals, and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures
  • Ensure that team members are meeting productivity standards. All clinicians under productivity by 10% or more will be placed on coaching/correction plans.
  • Document a minimum of two hours of supervision per month for each individual supervised; document weekly supervision for all interns. Supervisees will be provided a copy of the LASS scale to determine supervisor/supervisee relationship and efficacy of supervision.
  • Complete annual staff performance reviews in a timely manner.
  • Instruct, inform, support and advise clinical staff, both individually and in group meetings, around treatment or system issues
  • Responsible for the supervision of Supported Housing Contract and RLRA program which will include: Basic understanding of OARS and policies and procedures surrounding supported housing. Ensure that RLRA clinicians has sufficient caseload and ensures that all allocated slots are filled.
  • Monitoring for compliance of certification process, recertification, follow-up, reporting and all aspects of RLRA/supported housing.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing at Heartwood Commons
  • Ensures that all documentation for RLRA and Supported Housing clients is completed and is in the appropriate EHR or HMIS.
  • Attends all Heartwood Commons Meetings
  • Ensures that all flex fund requests are appropriate/
  • Monitor or update all records to assure compliance with general clinical standards, administrative rules, agency policies, and other applicable rules.
  • Ensure that all clinicians are utilizing FIT with each client at least 90% of the time
  • Create and/or compile routine or special reports as requested.
  • Facilitate positive relations between the agency and other aspects of the community.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff and co-workers
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in a manner consistent with agency policy and professional standards. Ensure that 90% of documentation reviewed and approved is correct and meets audit standards.
  • Assist Clinical Director with special projects as requested.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Manager to conduct case review and OAR compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Provide after-hours services and on-call service on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload, as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Requirements

Education

  • Master's degree in a social/behavioral science, advanced academic degree/licensure and CADC.
  • 2 years post graduate

Experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience with community based rehabilitative case management services and the SPMI (severe and persistent mental illness) population.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with evidence based practices utilized by agency.
  • Knowledge and/or experience supervising employees
  • Knowledge and/or experience with program management.

Required skills:

  • Knowledge of mental health treatment as well as addiction treatment and applicable regulations.
  • Computer skills, word processing and data entry.
  • Ability to navigate and instruct on EMR
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, willingness to transport individuals regularly, good driving record, and insurance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history check.

  • Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to lift 20 lb.;
