About the Role
Redhorse is seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Development Lead to contribute significantly to the United States Air Force's (USAF) Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) and enhanced Reliability Centered Maintenance (eRCM) initiative. This critical role will leverage your expertise to build a cutting-edge data platform, implementing a "data as a product" philosophy. You'll work within the USAF's Advana enclave, directly impacting aircraft maintenance optimization, increasing aircraft availability, and minimizing downtime. Your work will utilize both historical aircraft records and sensor data to predict component failures, contributing directly to improved mission readiness. This is a high-impact position requiring collaboration with Air Force leadership and various technical teams within Redhorse.
Key Responsibilities- Define and lead the strategic vision for the organization's data platform, focusing on a "data as a product" philosophy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable priorities for technical teams.
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and product owners to ensure the data platform is scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in data governance, quality, and accessibility within the USAF's Advana enclave.
- Oversee the development and execution of a data roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and alignment.
- Promote the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization through effective storytelling and reporting.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in data infrastructure and products, recommending innovations where appropriate.
- An active Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in leveraging data to drive business strategy and outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects or teams (5+ years experience).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an agile or collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms, tools, and frameworks (e.g., cloud data storage, visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI).
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., data science, business analytics, or information systems).
- Hands-on experience or technical familiarity with data engineering workflows, such as ETL pipelines, SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and data modeling.
- Knowledge of data quality and data governance frameworks.
- Proficiency in data storytelling and visualization to communicate insights effectively.
- Certification in agile methodologies, data analytics, or product management (e.g., PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner).
- Proven experience in scaling or modernizing data platforms.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance and Department of Defense data systems.
- Experience with the Advana technology stack: Databricks, Qlik Sense, Colibra, Tableau. Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure or GCP.v
