Basic Function/Definition
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or divisions will refer to the pool of applicants on file to fill temporary assignments as needed. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department or division be interested in scheduling an interview.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education
OR
Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s degree in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s degree in personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree
OR
The Equivalent
OR
A valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the appropriate subject matter
AND
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Equivalencies
1. For Business: A bachelor’s degree in business or a related area AND a combination of successfully completed coursework, totaling at least 12 units at the upper division level and twelve (12) units at the graduate level in the area in which the equivalency is requested, plus evidence of experience in a business or related area.
2. For a Business Law: J.D. or LL.B OR a master’s degree in a business related area OR a bachelor’s degree in business or related area AND a combination of successfully completed coursework, totaling at least 12 units at the upper division level and twelve (12) units at the graduate level in the area in which the equivalency is requested, plus evidence of experience in a business or related area.
Faculty who meet minimum qualifications or an equivalency in the above discipline can teach in the following disciplines:
Business Management, Personnel Management Industry Relations Labor Relations, Quality Control Management, Business Organization, Business Administration, Business Law, etc. (Law as it relates to specific other subject matter areas)
Responsibilities
Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day and evening hours.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
Foreign Degrees
Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
