Job Description

Description of Duties: The Athletic Trainer will be a part of the Department of Athletics and will work under the direction of the Division Chair reporting to the Athletic Director.

1. To teach athletic training courses as assigned.

2. To supervise student trainers in the classroom, training room, and at other sites.

3. To develop, direct, and administer an athletic training facility.

4. To provide athletic training support services for all athletic programs at the college.

5. To develop and administer an annual budget for the athletic training facility and instructional program.

6. To travel with athletic teams as assigned.

7. To order, maintain, and update training supplies.

8. To coordinate athletic students insurance.

9. To recruit students to the Athletic Trainer Program.

10. To function as a team member in the Department of Athletics and the Division of Student Services in the development and implementation of processes necessary to accomplish the goals and philosophy of the division and the college.

11. To assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Instructional Services, Athletic Director, and/or the College President.

Travel required: Some to various events

Experience and Training: BOC certification or eligible, Texas State License or eligible, and 1 -3 years experience. However, new grads and young professionals are encouraged to apply.

Education: Master's preferred, minimum Bachelor's in Athletic Training or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provide athletic training and emergency care for athletic related injuries. Treatment, rehabilitation and modality usage. Assist with drug screening. Past knowledge and use of SportsWare.

Preferred Qualifications: First Aid/CPR Certified and/or Instructor. Some teaching will be required.

Minimum Educational Qualifications: BS in Athletic Training or related degree

Salary or Salary Range: This is an 11 month full time position with full time benefits. The salary range is $44,869 to $52,007 depending on education and experience. The salary range is based on the Administrative salary schedule of Bachelor's: 410 to Master's: 435. This position is available August 1st. Applications will be accepted until July 22, 2022.
